Thank you for reading carefully

Thank you for purchasing your new Heal lead. It is very important that you follow the instructions on how to use it, so that your dog is comfortable and safe. Ideally, a fear-free trainer will assist you in fitting the lead to your dog’s existing harness. If you have engaged a great trainer, ask for their help in person. If not, let us know and we can put you in touch with someone.

The Heal is best used on a long relaxed lead. There is no expectation for your dog to walk next to you if they choose not to.

The Heal is designed to aid guardians wanting to transition to a harness and as an alternative to the following tools: Head collar, Sporn harness/equivalent, Correction chain, Flat collar, Prong collar, E- collar. These tools can be damaging to a dog, particularly if they are pulling. We want to minimise the damage to dogs wherever and however we can.

The Heal is also designed to be used in combination with ethical training. We encourage all guardians who have a dog who pulls to reach out to their local qualified and ethical trainer. Using the Heal is not designed as a permanent tool and is best utilised under the guidance of professional support. The Heal must not be secured to your dog when they are off - lead.

If at any time your dog’s movement appears restricted, it is because the Heal is not fitted correctly. If you are unsure how to fit it correctly and do not have access to a trainer, please reach out to us and we will guide you through.

It is also critical that your dog’s existing harness is fitted well and that they are comfortable. We like the Y shaped harnesses, as they are less likely to obstruct the chest and shoulders of your dog. At any time your dog shows signs of discomfort or distress using the Heal, please cease use immediately and reach out to us. We are here to help.
